This month Choralis will record recent compositions by Bob Chilcott for a Christmas-themed CD that will be released on the Signum Classics label. The recording will include three multi-movement pieces: Gloria, commissioned and premiered in December 2015 by Choralis, Wenceslas, which tells the story of the benevolent monarch, and the brand-new My Perfect Stranger, premiered by The BBC Singers in December 2016. Also included will be one of Mr. Chilcott’s most popular carols Jesus, Springing and The Nine Gifts, a carol commissioned by the Cathedral Choral Society in honor of the late J. Reilly Lewis. The recording also will feature The Classical Brass Quintet, James Shaffran, Baritone, and the Cantus Primo Youth Choir. It will be released through iTunes and other commercial sources in Fall 2017, in time for holiday listening pleasure.
