Handel’s Messiah (Part 1)

The community is invited to join Choralis in a sing-along of Handel’s Messiah on Sunday, December 1st beginning at 3:00 pm at Fairfax Presbyterian Church, 10723 Main Street, Fairfax, VA. The tradition of singing the Christmas portion of Handel’s Messiah is a rousing way to inaugurate the season. The event will be led by Artistic Director Gretchen Kuhrmann and will feature professional soloists, chamber orchestra, and organ. Bring your own score or rent one at the door to sing along with the choruses. Admission is $20 for adults, $10 for young adults (ages 23-30), $5 for students (ages 13-22) and free for children ages 12 and under. Score rental is $5. Admission can be paid at the door or tickets can be purchased in advance here.

Sing-along patrons also are invited to assist the less fortunate among us — as Handel himself did in writing Messiah to raise funds for the needy—by bringing baby care products, travel-size toiletries, and clothing items such as underwear, socks, or winter gear to support the FACETS Hypothermia Prevention and Response Program in Fairfax County.
